History
The first TRICO (Transradial Intervention Course) was held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India in 2005. During this first two-day course, 22 live demonstrations were shown to over 350 interventional cardiologists from around the world, and basic and advanced techniques were discussed.
Since then, TRICO has been held annually. It is considered to be the No. 1 TRI course in the world.
Mission
The transradial approach should be the approach of choice for the vast majority of coronary angiographies and interventions.
The benefits of transradial intervention including near-zero access-site complications, staff convenience, early patient ambulation, and patient comfort and preference have been clearly documented over many years.
In the future, the radial approach will be used for increasingly sophisticated coronary and peripheral interventions.
Medical schools and teaching hospitals worldwide should focus on teaching the radial approach so that interventional cardiologists can begin taking the learning curve in stride.
Our mission is to help interventionalists the-world-over become competent, confident radialists so that patients everywhere can benefit from this elegant procedure.
